This week's writer tip: Developing your sense of awareness through the five senses. Really look at the world around you - faces of strangers, the texture of a tree. Listen to sounds, like eggs frying, fountain gurgling or voice tones of love or anger. Smell the iodide breezes from the ocean, pipe tobacco, your favorite after shave lotion or perfume. Touch a dog's fur, elegant piece of clothing, workbench. Taste a hot pepper, dark chocolate, rain on your tongue. Now think how you would put these sensations into words.
