We are thrilled for Chris Coward who is off to an excellent start with the newly formed evening group in Oxford. Thank you to those of you who showed support at the first meeting. Sadly I couldn't attend but am looking forward to next month. Me thinks this group will inflate in record time. FWA membership is on a roll in Central Florida. Cheers to all!
Please note that this month and next month (Feb. 26th and March 26th - 10:00 a.m.) our daytime Lady Lake meetings will take place in the Community Bldg. adjacent to the library parking lot. I will see if there is a way I can hang our FWA banner outside the bldg. for those meetings. Great publicity tool!
Welcome to new member, writer, poet, Carol Kaiser. Glad to have ya' on board. If you hear any rumors about us being the "wild bunch" well . . . .er . . . .don't pay no mind until you attend this year's conference. I know we'll keep you coming back!
I'd like an update on local FWA authors who are actively marketing their books. Give us an update so we can cheer you on and post it on this blog! Local member Delbert Forsberg is announcing his published book - Twin Destinies, a WWII war memoire which I helped edit and ghostwrite. It's now available on Amazon. Delbert is currently in an Assisted Living Facility in Leesburg (Sterling House) and welcomes any visitors if you are down that way.
By the way. The March issue (now on sale) of Writer's Digest is dedicated to self-publishing - pros and cons. If you don't usually buy this magazine I suggest you get this issue at your local book store. It is a worthwhile resource for anyone contemplating going that route.
Well that's it for now. See ya' Feb. 26th at the Lady Lake Library Community Bldg. at 10:00 a.m. Bring something to read (double spaced). You have the option of making copies for written comments or simply read your work without making copies. No workshop is scheduled so if we get spare time we'll "shop talk". Many of you have expressed enthusiasm and told me you are learning much within the shop talk process. Thank you all!
