Happy Valentine's Day

Love is in the air. Two of our group poets, Carol Kaiser and Don Lubov had love poems in today's Daily Sun. (Section "D" page 12)
I wish I had enough room to copy all of Don's elegant love poem to his sweetheart of many years. Herewith is an abbreviated version but I hope you'll check out the full version in the paper. Wishing you all a Happy Valentine's Day! - CP
A Valentine's Day Poem
I gasped so loud I scared myself,
All present must surely have heard.
My only excuse for such a display
Went way beyond simple words.
. . . . . . . . . .
She glided with a gentle grace,
and innocent natural charm.
Had it been night, the dark was doomed,
For her smile just lit up the room.
Her beauty had caught me completely off guard,
The girl of my dreams was here.
More attractive than every thought,
once far away and now near.
. . . . . . . . . . . .
A gasp escapes my mouth today,
Just as it did that day
When first I saw my vision real
When she first came my way
Her beauty's there for all to see,
Beneath the surface, too.
It's not just skin deep, no it's more.
Our vows I would renew.
So here's to you my darling wife,
keep taking my breath away.
Just as you have these many years,
when you first came my way. - Don Lubov
Carol is a new FWA member. Herewith her poem conveying love to all.
Cupid
Cupid, send your arrow not to me,
For I have loved as it should be.
But seek the ones who linger still,
Let your dart their hopes fulfill.
Cupid send your message homing true,
Make the missile pierce straight through.
A heart which is a sharp shut door,
Can open under love's amore.
Cupid, send your shot around the world,
A valentine of peace unfurled.
If love would bloom in every heart,
This earth could have a brand new start. - Carole Kaiser
Other tid bits - Group member Julie McGlone also had a recent splash of news in The Daily Sun. Along with being a writer, Julie is a retired art teacher. In an effort to make watercolors more approachable and fun for painters of all levels, she has started a new transparent watercolors workshop called Splash With Us. Is your writing in a slump? Consider the following quote and keep on keepin' on. This too shall pass.
This weeks quote: Courage does not always roar. Sometimes it is a quiet voice at the end of a day, saying . . . "I will try again tomorrow." - Mary Anne Radmacher.
