Tip: Make it a habit of checking our statewide FWA website for the latest updates on what is going on, within the Sunshine State. Go to http://www.floridawriters.net/ Lots of good stuff there!
Another website of interest is http://www.booktour.com/ This site is free of charge and links authors - published by traditional and self-published means with audiences. The site allows authors to create pages that showcase their books, their bios, and any events they have scheduled. Pretty neat huh?
Hey, did you know that our very own Chris Coward is the Royal Palm Literary Awards chairman, chairwoman, chairperson (take your pick) for the 2009 annual Conference? Yeah, in case you haven't been reading your email, thought I'd let ya' know! Wait, I'm not done yet! Local member Frank Ridge is the Volunteer chairperson for the 2009 Conference. Wooohoo! It's great to see our members volunteering to help out with the conf. This is one heck of a big labor of love on all volunteers within this venue. Let's give them our full support if/when they ask for our help during the preparation process.
Thanks to Don Lubov for moderating this months Lady Lake Writers meeting. Well done! Oh, by the way, did you know that Don also teaches Zen: Spirituality and Enlightment classes at The Villages Lifelong College of Learning? (see page 42 in catalog).
Speaking of teachers, FWA member and literary agent Joan West also has a class "Secrets of Submitting a Manuscript" (see page 48 of catalog). Or go on the web to The Villages Lifelong College of Learning to browse around.
Well . . . .guess that wraps it up sports fans.
